"Moonpie" was unheralded when he signed with UGA from Johnson High School in Gainesville. He played right tackle on the 1976 Champs where they were a running team. As a sophomore he started on defense. After moving to offense he still played on the goal-line defense. Consensus All-American. He was in the NFL fourteen years for the Cincinnati Bengals and Seattle Seahawks. He is possibly the best OL in UGA history.
