After 200 laps and 500 miles in the 2016 DAYTONA 500®, Denny Hamlin brought Toyota its first victory in the “Great American Race” and Joe Gibbs Racing its first win in the race since 1993.

Coming out of Turn 4 on the last lap, Hamlin, driving the No. 11 FedEx Express Toyota Camry, made a last-second sprint to the front and held off the second-place finisher by 0.01 seconds – the closest finish in DAYTONA 500® history. Toyota drivers led 158 of the race’s 200 laps with Hamlin leading a race-high 95 of them.
