After making a final pass to take the lead with six laps to go, Earnhardt held off a strong push from the second-place driver in the waning laps to win. The Duel win was the fifth of his career – the most among active drivers – and his second in two years. He led 43 of the event’s 60 laps and won by 0.183 seconds over the runner-up.
