In a special tribute to former NASCAR Sprint Cup Series™ driver Jason Leffler, Joe Gibbs Racing and Denny Hamlin ran a replica paint scheme of Leffler’s 2005 No. 11 FedEx® car at Michigan International Speedway on June 16. Leffler debuted the FedEx sponsorship for Joe Gibbs Racing in 2005 and Hamlin, who later replaced Leffler in the No. 11 car, wanted to honor Leffler’s life at the track. The car was rewrapped late Saturday night and ready for Sunday’s Quicken Loans 400. “He was the reason FedEx® came into the sport and it just made sense,” Hamlin said. Now Lionel Racing joins Joe Gibbs Racing in honoring Leffler’s life with the die-cast of the No. 11 FedEx® LefTurn Tribute Toyota Camry that Hamlin drove in honor of Leffler. With a replica paint scheme of Leffler’s 2005 FedEx® car, each die-cast features painstaking detail and is officially licensed by NASCAR®. Lionel Racing in partnership with Joe Gibbs Racing and NASCAR® will donate 100 percent of the profit from the purchase of each die-cast to the Charlie Dean Trust Fund to benefit Leffler’s son Charlie.
