The race was postponed for over six hours causing the field to battle it out under the lights at the one-mile desert oval.

Earnhardt started from third position and powered atop the leaderboard at Lap 195. After a late caution on lap 218, the rainfall continued and the race was called, resulting in a third win for the 88 team.
