The 2002 NASCAR Winston Cup season marked the first full year of Jeff Gordon's DuPont Flames paint scheme, replacing the famous Rainbow Warrior design that had defined his No. 24 Chevrolet throughout the 1990s.
The new look kept DuPont's familiar blue base but introduced sweeping red and orange flames across the hood, front fenders, and sides, along with bright yellow No. 24 numerals. It was a major change for one of NASCAR's most recognizable cars, and the flames design would become closely associated with Gordon throughout the 2000s.
