The west coast's California Speedway proved to be a lucky place for Las Vegas native Kyle Busch when he piloted his #5 Kellogg's Chevy into Victory Lane for his first Nextel Cup Series win on September 4th, 2005. At only 20 years old, Kyle became the youngest driver to win a race in NASCAR's premier level. That night in Victory Lane, Kyle turned the attention away from his own record breaking win to announce that the winnings from the race would be donated to help the victims of Hurricane Katrina.
