Kyle Larson pulled off one of the wildest finishes of the 2026 NASCAR season on October 25 at Talladega Superspeedway, earning his first career superspeedway victory in the YellaWood 500!
After taking the white flag in the lead, Larson was shuffled all the way back to 11th coming out of Turn 2. His chances appeared to be gone, but the driver of the No. 5 HendrickCars.com Chevrolet found an opening on the bottom lane and charged back through the field, passing seven cars in the final quarter-mile alone!
Larson edged Hendrick Motorsports teammate William Byron by just 0.041 seconds in a three-wide scramble to the checkered flag, claiming his 35th career NASCAR Cup Series victory and his first win at Talladega. The victory also extended his championship points lead to 73 with just two races remaining in the season.
