ROB MOROSO 1988 PEAK ANTI-FREEZE MONTE CARLO 1/24 ACTION
Limited edition of 732 made. Rob Moroso was at the peak of his young career when he strapped in to the car on October 9,
1988 to compete in his first- ever Cup series start.
The 20-year-old Busch Series rookie was on the verge of reaching greatness, and it was only just
the beginning. Starting from the 34th position at Charlotte Motor Speedway, Moroso went on to
finish the race 14th, piloting the No. 47 Peak Monte Carlo for Hendrick Motorsports. This was the
first time Moroso had ever driven for any team other than his families.
Finishing second in the Busch series in 1988, Moroso went on to claim the Busch Series
Championship in 1989, and would later become the 1990 Rookie of the Year in Cup. His life was
cut short, after a tragic car accident took his life in 1990.
Now, for a tribute to one of NASCAR’s legendary young guns, Lionel Racing is excited to release the
latest and greatest in the NASCAR Classics line – Moroso’s 1988 Peak Monte Carlo that he drove to
a top-15 finish in his first-ever Cup series start. With a replica paint scheme, from the Peak logo
on the hood and side panels to the number on the roof, each car has precise detailing and
looks just like the car he drove in that October race!
